Director of LAVS, Lauren, founded the studio with the intention of bringing pop and contemporary vocal technique to music instruction in Venice and surrounding west LA. If you long to learn how to sing with a band, sing to tracks, write the best melodies for you voice- then the teachers at LAVS can help you. Common topics include extending vocal range, working on riffs and learning to build the middle voice -whether developing low or high notes. We are also able to teach recording in DAWS (digital audio workstations) such as Logic Pro x & Ableton.
A bit about Lauren: Professionally, Lauren has worked as a singer, songwriter, keyboardist and vocal coach for Columbia, Island/Def Jam, Aftermath, Sony/Epic, Atlantic, Universal Records & Jimmy Kimmel Show. She has he scored a documentary for Marvel Comics which aired on primetime ABC called "From Pulp to Pop" as well a placements on Grey's Anatomy, Scream,Shameless, iZombie and Go Pro. Her voice and songs have been licensed to networks such as Lifetime, Oxygen, MTV, E!, ABC and NBC including singing on tracks for such artists as Purity Ring, and A$AP Ferg. Her band has been featured on Spotify's New Music Friday 4 times and as well as garnering over 4 million plays on Spotify and a million plays on soundcloud. She earned her Bachelors of Music in Voice from NYU and her Masters of Music from USC's Thornton School of Music as well a certificate in Audio Engineering from Musicians Institute.
Her eclectic vocal coaching technique is rooted in years of working in several styles in order to keep up with industry demand. Her students have been accepted at LACHSA, UC Irvine, Montclair,Belmont College of Music and the Musicians Institute to name a few. Lauren is proficient with Logic, Ableton and ProTools. She is currently on the staff at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA.
